Progression from Novice
About the course
This class is suitable for those who have done the beginners class and may have been practising for a while, perhaps having done a few parties or even achieved a few paid jobs.
We will look at perfecting and honing techniques. Your instructor will demonstrate many of the techniques and will cover the classic faces.
Some of the topics covered on the course are:
- blending colours with sponges
- achieving a hard edge around the face like a mask
- control and variation of brushstrokes
- achieving a smooth white base
- introducing more advanced techniques
- flowers, teardrops and twirls
- highlights and lowlights
- speed, and ways to achieve it
- what makes a balanced face
- the bulls eye and why it is important
- which colours work well together
- complimentary and contrasting colours
- choosing appropriate colours for different skin tones
The course will increase your confidence so that you can expand your repertoire and take your face-painting to the next level. We will cover the skills which you will need if you wish to apply for membership of FACE (the internationally recognized association for facepainters).
